Veteran's Service Agent

Hamilton is a member of the Eastern Essex District Department of Veteran’s Services. In accordance with Chapter 115 of the Massachusetts General Laws the Veteran's Service Agent provides services to veteran's and their dependents including widow(er)s. These services include administration of financial aid, assistance to qualified veterans with obtaining bonuses, state annuities, property tax abatements, and other benefits.

Working with the federally run Department of Veteran’s Affairs the Department is able to assist with filing for pensions, service related injury/illness compensation, dependency indemnity compensations for survivors, VA Healthcare enrollment and insurance claims along with various other issues.

In addition to aiding Veteran’s directly, the Department also advocates on their behalf at the local, state, and federal levels. They interact with many local organizations including the Council on Aging, Housing Authority, and Historical Society to provide services to the community.
