Community Health Needs Assessment:
The Community Health Needs Assessment, conducted by Beverly and Addition Gilbert Hospitals, is part of an ongoing commitment to promoting health and well-being, addressing health disparities, and working to achieve health equity. The assessment engaged more than 1,000 people, including local public health officials, clinical and social service providers, community based organizations, first responders (e.g., police, fire department and ambulance officials), faith leaders, other government officials, and community residents.
Youth Risk Behavioral Survey:
The Youth Risk Behavioral Survey (YRBS) is a national survey developed in 1990 to monitor health behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death, disability and social problems among youth and adults in the United States. The survey measures:
- Behaviors that contribute to unintentional injuries and violence
- Sexual behaviors related to unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV infection
- Alcohol and other drug use
- Tobacco use
- Unhealthy dietary behaviors
- Inadequate physical activity
- Prevalence of obesity, asthma, and other health-related behaviors
- Sexual identity and sex of sexual contacts
