Applying for an Appointed Term
Any resident of the Town of Hamilton may apply to join a Town Committee if there is a vacant position. To apply, complete the application, attach a letter of interest and a current résumé, and send the packet to Town Hall. The Town Manager’s Office will forward your application packet to the committee of interest. If there are no current vacancies, your application packet will be kept on file for future openings. All appointed positions are approved by the Select Board through a formal vote, following a written recommendation from the Chair of the relevant committee.

Historic District Commission: 2 openings (3-year term); 2 openings (2-year terms) terms apply

Compliance with Legal Obligations
To ensure all appointments meet legal requirements, please note that positions are not official until they have been approved by the Select Board, ethics training has been completed, a required CORI background check is completed, and the Town Clerk has fulfilled all legal requirements, which ends with taking the Oath of Office for the appointed term. We appreciate your patience through the official appointment process, and we are grateful for your commitment to public service.
