The Senior Property Tax Work Off Abatement Program allows Hamilton residents over the age of 60 to perform work for the Town of Hamilton at a rate equal to minimum wage in order to earn credit towards their property tax bill. Under this program, senior residents are allowed to earn up to $1,500.00 in credit which would then be applied to their 3rd quarter property tax bill  As of January 1, 2023, the Massachusetts minimum wage is $15.00 per hour, so an individual would be able to work for approximately 100 hours during the program year of December 1 – November 30. After an application is submitted to the Town Manager’s office and a CORI check is completed, the applicant will be advised of possible work options available in town departments. Please see the Town Manager’s page for the application packet and further information.
