Hamilton offers a Senior Work-off Program to qualifying residents over the age of 60 to perform work for the Town at a rate equal to minimum wage in order to earn credit towards their property tax bill. Under this program, senior residents are allowed to earn up to $1,875.00 in credit which would then be applied to their 3rd quarter property tax bill. As of January 1, 2025, the Massachusetts minimum wage is $17.00 per hour, so an individual would be able to work for approximately 110 hours during the program year of December 1 – November 30. After an application is submitted and a CORI check is completed, the applicant will be advised of possible work options available. Please contact the Council on Aging for the application packet and further information.
