The Hamilton Select Board will hold its first meeting since the April 9 Annual Town Election on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the Meeting Room at the Hamilton-Wenham Library, located at 14 Union Street. The meeting will be hybrid, with the in-person component at the Library and a zoom option for both board members and the public.
The recent election finalized the board’s updated composition. Thomas Brian Myers Jr., the incumbent, was re-elected, and Benjamin Galuza was elected to his first term. Both will serve three-year terms through June 30, 2028. The remaining board seats continue to be held by William W. Wilson, William A. Olson, and Rosemary I. Kennedy.
As part of its annual reorganization, the Board will discuss responsibilities for the year ahead and nominate and vote to elect a Chair, Vice Chair, and Clerk/Secretary.
At a future meeting the new Chair will review Hamilton’s 22 boards and committees, and assign Select Board members as liaisons—a long-standing tradition that supports communication across all areas of town government.
In addition to the reorganization, the April 22 meeting agenda includes:
• A recap of the Annual Town Meeting and Election
• Preliminary planning and discussion for the planned Special Town Meeting, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 7 p.m. The prior Select Board called for a Special Town last month and approved an STM preparation calendar at the March 24, 2025 meeting.
• The Select Board’s will also approve its regular meeting calendar for June to December 2025.
This meeting sets the foundation for the Board’s priorities and responsibilities in the year ahead, reaffirming Hamilton’s commitment to effective and transparent local governance.
Residents are encouraged to attend in person or follow along remotely. The full agenda, including all items up for discussion, is available online.
