The Environmental Impact Committee was created to work hand-in-hand with the Select Board advising and championing our community’s commitment to reducing environmental impact. Its mission is to support meaningful progress toward achieving a net-zero carbon energy future, as envisioned by local residents and community partners such as the Hamilton Wenham Climate Action Team. Achieving a net-zero community means creating a healthier planet for future generations, slowing climate change, and ensuring cleaner air and water. Switching to cleaner energy sources is key to reaching net-zero and together, we’re building a more sustainable future for everyone.

The Environmental Impact Committee became charted as an advisory committee to the Select Board on August 1, 2002.
