Master Plan Steering Committee purpose and charge
The Hamilton Select Board has elected to establish a Master Plan Steering Committee to assist the professional consultants in the development of a Master Plan Vision for the town of Hamilton, that will guide future boards, committees and town department heads in decision making.
The purpose of the Hamilton Master Plan Steering Committee is to guide the work of the professional consultants hired to write the master plan and ensure the maximum public input possible during the planning process.
The Master Plan Steering Committee is not charged with drafting or developing the Master Plan documents or administration of the consultancy contract(s) but will be asked to inform the document; review data and public input; and work collaboratively to ensure a vision for Hamilton that is welcoming and supportive of all of its residents and their ideas for the future.
The professional consultants will be managed by the fulltime town staff and the consultants will work collaboratively with the MPSC to ensure positive engagement with the Committee and the public at-large.
History: In 2021, the Town began a master planning process that is designed to help articulate a vision for the Town of Hamilton for the next 25 years. This plan will include strategies for achieving that vision in five-year increments moving forward. To create a vision that suits the entire population, we seek public input and information about what you value in Hamilton and what changes you would like to see.
