To celebrate the holiday season, Hamilton’s municipal offices will be operating on a reduced schedule. While we strive to provide advance notice of any closures, we recommend checking individual department webpages for the most up-to-date hours of operation and updates.
Week of December 23-27
Hours of Operation
Town Hall and municipal offices/departments will close at 12 P.M. on Tuesday, December 24, and remain closed on Wednesday, December 25, in observance of the holiday. Regular operations will resume on Thursday, December 26, at 8 A.M.
Emergency Services
Please note that Police, Fire, and emergency services will remain fully operational and available during this period.
DPW Update
Christmas trees cannot be disposed of through curbside pick-up. Hamilton residents may recycle their trees by dropping them off at the designated recycling location. Access the drop-off point via the rear Patton Park Access Road from Asbury Street and proceed to the end of the lane. We extend our gratitude to Iron Tree Services for generously donating their chipping services to support the tree recycling effort and Brick End Farm for composting. Learn more.
Hamilton’s trash collection takes place on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. According to the Department of Public Works’ contract with Casella, trash collection will be delayed by one day during holiday weeks. If you are experiencing problems with your trash collection, or are uncertain why a particular item was not taken, please contact Casella at 978-548-4427.
Town Manager’s Office Hours
The Town Manager’s Office will close at 12 P.M. on Tuesday, December 24, and remain closed on Wednesday, December 25 and Thursday, December 26. Regular operations resume Friday, December 27.
Recreation Department Hours
The Recreation Department will close at 12 P.M. on Tuesday, December 24, and remain closed on Wednesday, December 25 and Thursday, December 26. Regular operations resume Friday, December 27.
Accessors Office Hours
The Accessors Office will close at 12 P.M. on Tuesday, December 24, and remain closed on Wednesday, December 25 and Thursday, December 26. Regular operations resume Friday, December 27.
Hamilton Wenham Public Library
The library will be closed Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25, 2024.

Hours of Operation
Town Hall and municipal offices/departments will be closed on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Noon and remain closed Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Regular operations will resume on Thursday, January 2, at 8 A.M.

January 20, 2025
Town Hall and municipal offices/departments will be closed on Monday, January 20 in observation of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, February 21, at 8 A.M.
DPW Update
Since MLK Day falls on a Monday and Hamilton’s trash collection occurs on a Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday schedule, there will be no delay in trash pick-up this week.
