Overnight lane closures along Route 22 are scheduled nightly, Monday through Friday, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. from July 14 thru August 1
HAMILTON – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will be implementing daily lane closures along Route 22 (Essex Street /Woodbury Street) from the Wenham town line to the Essex town line. The lane closures will be nightly from Monday, July 14, through Thursday, July 31, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning to allow crews to conduct pavement resurfacing and related work safely and effectively.
Lane closures will be required with alternating traffic, and/or detours will be utilized depending on the operation and specific location within the limits of work.
This work is being done under a District 4 Maintenance Wide Resurfacing contract and in collaboration with the Town of Hamilton under a Municipal Pavement Improvement Program.
The schedule for this work is weather-dependent and is subject to change without notice.
Drivers who are traveling through the area should reduce speed and use caution.
Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
