Director of Planning
Position Overview: The Town of Hamilton is seeking a highly qualified Director of Planning to lead and manage our Planning and Conservation Departments. This role involves overseeing planning, zoning, land use permits, and conservation review processes while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement department policies and procedures.
  • Manage subdivision processes and affordable housing programs.
  • Collaborate with town departments to enhance efficiency.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets and secure grants.
  • Supervise staff and provide support to the Planning and Zoning Boards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, environment, community development, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in municipal planning and community development, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of land use planning, economic development, and grant management.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.

Accounts Receivable Specialist in the Treasure/Collector Office
The Town of Hamilton is actively seeking candidates to fill the role of Accounts Receivable Specialist in the Treasure/Collector Office. As the Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will serve as the main point of contact for the general public. Your primary responsibilities will include providing clerical, AR/AP, and administrative support to the Treasurer/Collector’s Office. This involves managing daily office operations, updating records, inputting data into the financial system, processing receipts for taxes, water bills, and other department revenues, as well as assisting with specialized documents within specified deadlines.

Regional Public Health Nurse

Towns of Hamilton, Essex, Rockport, Wenham

Full-time/40 hours per week

Position Overview: We are hiring a Regional Public Health Nurse to lead our Regional Public Health Nurse (PHN) Program in collaboration with local PHNs and health officials across Hamilton, Essex, Rockport, and Wenham. The role involves coordinating, implementing, and evaluating Public Health Nursing efforts, supporting all age groups, and serving as a backup for existing public health nurses.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the Regional PHN Program.
  • Manage vaccination clinics and supervise staff as needed.
  • Participate in emergency planning activities and disease investigations.
  • Network and collaborate with community partners.
  • Identify and draft policies and procedures under the direction of health officials.
  • Contribute to budget development and complete Community Health Assessments.

Requirements:

  • Valid, current RN license in Massachusetts.
  • B.S.N in Nursing required; M.S.N. in Nursing preferred.
  • Previous experience in Public Health/School Nursing preferred.
  • Access to own transportation and ability to travel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record programs.

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current CPR, CPR Instructor, and First Aid certification.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and innovative.
  • Experience working with diverse groups and boards of directors.

TOWN OF HAMILTON Department of Public Works Full – Time Water Truck Driver/Laborer

 

The Town of Hamilton seeks a full-time Truck Driver/Laborer for Water Department, who reports to the Water Operations Supervisor to work 40 hr./week, M-Th 6:30am – 3:30pm and F 6:30am – 12:30pm. Primary duties include operating one or more types of light, medium and heavy class automotive equipment and performing a variety of manual tasks in connection with general water distribution system and other town departments if needed. Qualifications include high school/GED graduate with at least 2 years of related experience, possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with airbrake endorsement. Possession of a valid hoisting machinery license Class 2B, or Water Distribution license issued by MA is desired.

Possession of a valid hoisting machinery license Class 2B (desired) issued by MA.
