Certified copies of a birth, marriage, or death certificate, with the raised seal of the Town of Hamilton, are issued by the Town Clerk’s office.

  • Birth certificates of anyone whose parents lived in Hamilton at the time of their birth are available at the Hamilton Town Clerk’s office as well as at the clerk’s office of the town or city hall where the birth occurred.
  • Marriage licenses are issued by the clerk in the town where the couple appeared to apply for the license, not in the town where the marriage took place.
  • Death certificates are issued by the clerk in the town where the deceased last resided as well as in the town where the death occurred.

To obtain a copy of the vital record by mail, send the request, a check for $10.00 made to the Town of Hamilton, and a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the Town Clerk’s office. Be sure to include the name and date of the vital record.

Copies of vital records may also be obtained in person at the Town Clerk’s office, during regular business hours.
