The Hamilton Select Board voted on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, to approve the scheduling of a Special Town Meeting (STM) for Monday, June 9, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Miles River Middle School, located at 775 Bay Road. Residents are encouraged to arrive early enough to allow for check-in. To ensure residents are informed and prepared, we will continue to share details on this important event.
This meeting will provide an opportunity for Hamilton residents to vote on the proposed consolidated school project and the lease of the Cutler School property. Voting at STM is in-person only. All registered voters in the Town of Hamilton are encouraged to attend.
Check-In
- Check-in opens at 5 P.M. – Miles River School Entrance
- Electronic clickers will be assigned at check-in and paired with a room-specific receiver for voting.
- Voters will decide on one of two room assignment and proceed to the check-in table for that room.

- Printed copies of the Warrant and Finance Committee Book of Recommendations will be available at the HW Library and Hamilton, Hamilton Council on Aging Building and Hamilton Town Clerk’s Office, at no cost on Friday, May 23 (Please 1 per person)
- Residents should bring a copy of the Warrant to the meeting
Key Warrant Articles (June 2025)
• There are two articles in the warrant, one is a vote on the proposed consolidated school project and the other an extension of the Cutler lease.
• For the consolidated school project to move forward, the June 9, 2025 Special Town Meeting article must pass by a 2/3 majority.
• 3A compliance vote will not be on the warrant at the June 9 Special Town Meeting.

Childcare Support
The Hamilton-Wenham Recreation Center is offering two special children’s programs during the STM meeting to support families who want to attend for $10 per child. Registration opens Tuesday, May 27 at 10 A.M. on their website: www.hwrecreation.com

- Children’s Development Center (CDC)
- Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School Students to offer babysitting services at the school library. (Flyer)
- Additionally, the local HW Mothers Club may maintain a list of available babysitters, which may be a helpful resource for families seeking occasional or part-time care.
Pizza on the Go
A local business, Five Sons Pizza, will be selling pizza outside the Middle School before and during the meeting. Five Sons holds a catering license and is offering this service independently as a convenience to residents who may find the meeting time conflicts with their usual dinner plans. (Please note that the pizza sales are arranged directly by Five Sons Pizza and is not organized by or sponsored by the Town.)
